#13: Fabergé Imperial Eggs – Russian Imperial Family (Russia)
The Fabergé Imperial Eggs were created between 1885 and 1917 for the Russian imperial family under Alexander III and Nicholas II. Each egg is made of precious metals and gemstones, and every one contains a hidden surprise, such as miniature portraits or mechanical objects. The series became a tradition of Easter gifting within the court. Around 50 were made, and more than 40 survive today in museums and private collections, including the Kremlin Armoury in Moscow and the Fabergé Museum in St. Petersburg.
