Old-school hacking cases that cost billions

Russian hacker Vladimir Levin became infamous after organizing unauthorized transfers from Citibank accounts in the mid-1990s. Using stolen customer credentials, he moved about $10 million across several countries before investigators tracked him down. The case became one of the earliest large-scale digital bank heists and exposed weaknesses in electronic banking security systems.
