#7: Rasputin Was Not Constantly Drunk
Stories about Rasputin often show him stumbling drunkenly through Saint Petersburg every night before his assassination in 1916. He certainly drank heavily at times, especially later in life, but many accounts were exaggerated by hostile newspapers. Witnesses who knew him personally described periods where he avoided alcohol completely for religious reasons.
