Children of divorce have to go through so much that we children of non-divorced parents don’t know. From the outside, it looks like they get everything they want. All they have to do is tell their parent, “Mom/Dad would’ve bought me this!” and the thing they wanted would magically appear in their hands.
However, there’s a downside of being a child of divorce. Your dad might have a new wife and kids, and along with them, a new set of financial burdens. That’s why dad couldn’t afford to pay half of your tuition. That’s why you were booted out of school.
