Live Well
“Lead a good life” quickly emerged as the overarching credo by which she directed the remaining years of her existence. George Herbert, a well-known English poet, is credited with having first penned the proverb that states “Living well is the best revenge,” and Swift found meaning in this famous quote.
Swift wanted to take better care of herself and others who shared her condition, in addition to leading the best possible life, savoring every moment, and discovering novel approaches to maximize the impact of each day. It was as if life had given her another opportunity to do things differently. She was concerned about making sure that she was contributing in some way.
