#26: The Devil Is in the Details
This is one of the things I love about Singers. They’re just gorgeous. That’s a 1916 Singer 66, still in use today by the owner. You won’t find this kind of intricacy on the $500 plastic sewing machines on the market today. Hand-painted and built to last, antique Singers are true quality.
Surprisingly, you can find quite a few of these on the market for sale, ranging from $56-$250, depending on the condition. If you want a sewing machine that needs a little TLC, $56 and a few hours isn’t a bad price at all! Granted, if you’re not quite into the DIY scene outside of sewing, then you might want to get one of the premium specimens.
