One of the highest-grossing films in America in 1965, and taking home the Academy Award for Best Picture that year, was the incomparable Sound of Music. Released at a time that many consider the Golden Age of Hollywood Musicals, Julie Andrews’ performance is still referenced as one of the most affecting and well-acted (and sung) performances in film history.
