#11: Pant Suit Potests (1978)
In 1978, McDonald’s employee Danette DiCroce (pictured in the white cap) was fired from her job for refusing to wear the standard uniform pants in favor of the skirts that female members of her church, the Lovingway Inner City United Pentecostal Chuch in Denver, wore as a matter of moral preference. After local supporters and the media became involved, Danette was offered her job back. Today’s uniform still features gender-neutral slacks.
