#17: Macy’s Thanksgiving Debut (1986)
It surprised us to learn that it took forty-six years for McDonald’s to finally fly their own float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In 1986, Ronald McDonald could be seen careening over New York City with a bunch of balloons in his hand, stretched out like Super Man. The float was retired in 1994 for a different float, which still flies in the iconic parade today.
