#18: Eastern Europe Finally Gets Big Macs (1990)
After the 1989 fall of the Berlin Wall in Germany and the shifting political climate in Eastern Europe at the onset of the 1990s, the doors were finally opened for McDonald’s to put down some roots. Their flagship Russian debut in Moscow drew the most-ever people for any franchise opening; a record 30,000 people were served that day.
