#12: The Infamous Sofa Bed
Who hasn’t thrown their back out trying to move a sofa bed? And that doesn’t touch on this bed’s worst qualities. Known for offering users a night of tossing and turning, sofa beds are notoriously uncomfortable thanks to a thin mattress and lackluster support. Opening and closing can also be a pain in the neck (and the shoulders…and the back) and, like futons, these beds pose a risk to young children who can become trapped by their fold-up feature.
