#8: Marble Hill: Manhattan That’s Physically in the Bronx
Marble Hill is legally part of Manhattan but sits on the mainland, attached to the Bronx. Originally an island, it was separated from Manhattan by a canal project in the 19th century that rerouted the Harlem River. When the old river channel was filled in, Marble Hill ended up physically connected to the Bronx. Despite this, its residents maintain their Manhattan address.
