#12: Cars Rarely Explode from a Single Bullet (Die Hard with a Vengeance, 1995)
Action movies frequently show a single gunshot striking a fuel tank before the entire vehicle erupts into a massive fireball. Real automobiles are designed very differently. Modern fuel tanks are durable and difficult to ignite, and liquid gasoline itself burns far less easily than the vapors above it. A bullet is far more likely to create a leak than an instant explosion. Achieving the dramatic cinematic effect requires highly specific conditions that rarely exist in everyday situations. Hollywood favors spectacular destruction over mechanical reality because it creates a more satisfying climax.
