#18: Normal Conversation Is Impossible During Freefall (Point Break, 1991)
Skydiving sequences often feature lengthy conversations between characters as they fall thousands of feet through the air. In reality, freefall creates an incredibly loud environment produced by wind rushing past the body at high speed. The constant roar overwhelms ordinary speech, making normal conversation virtually impossible. Experienced skydivers instead rely on hand signals or prearranged communication methods. Even shouting directly into another person’s ear would accomplish very little. This is one of many situations where cinematic dialogue overrides the realities of physics.
