The Supper
Every year, the White House Correspondents Association holds the annual White House Correspondents Dinner at a hotel where the President is anticipated to attend. The president is mocked by comedians, journalists, sportsmen, and other well-known figures from the entertainment industry, who poke fun at his perceived flaws and faults.
The event is being held in honor of the First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of speech. Scholarships and prizes are also given out during the evening, and they are generally paid by the high admission charge. It is an unwritten tradition that the President hosts the celebration in the White House, but President Trump is the first president to have not attended.
