Easter Time
Host responsibilities for the White House Easter Egg Roll is another perk of being in the Oval Office. During Easter in 1878, President Rutheford B. Hayes permitted a group of children to play an egg rolling game on the White House grounds.
Since then, the ritual has only been discontinued during times of war or White House restoration. However, not a single president has broken with custom over Easter since 1953.
