It’s Not Safe To Drive A Car
Driving, even in your own automobile, is a prerogative that you relinquish when you’re President of the United States. Never in the history of the country will a president be seen driving on a public roadway. For the most part, this is a precautionary measure to keep the president out of harm’s way.
The last president to use a taxpayer-funded roadway was Lyndon B. Johnson. Even presidents may have a good time on their own land. On his Crawford, Texas ranch, George W. Bush drove a pickup truck. On his Santa Barabara ranch, Ronald Reagan was a regular Jeep driver.
