Taking Sides
As we mentioned, getting a divorce can often be more beneficial for the children than staying together. Sometimes, when couples decide not to separate, they can resent each other and even bring their kids into the mix, exposing them to issues in their relationship. This can be highly problematic as the children can develop a biased opinion toward one of the parents.

It’s understandable how some parents can feel alone and trapped in their marriage, and confiding with their children may seem like an excellent way to cope. But looking for a therapist or couples counselor can be much more beneficial to the parents and the kids, who won’t need to pick sides or develop an impartial opinion of their mom or dad.
