Broken Promises
We all know the story: The children ask the parents for something, and the parents throw around a lot of “later” or “we’ll do that tomorrow.” The problem is that later and tomorrow come but not with the fulfillment of that promise. Promising things you don’t intend to keep can damage your child’s trust in you more than you think.

We all know how vital promises are, and when parents follow through with their words, it shows their children they can be trusted. Keeping your promises will encourage your kids to seek you more often when facing problems later in life. Maybe you think you’re only lying about getting ice cream, but the message you’re passing on to your child is deeper than that.
