The Importance of Showing Up
Many parents don’t know how important it is to go to our kid’s school events, games and recitals. Children whose parents participate or show up to activities build a positive sense of self-worth, as it teaches them their achievements and hard-work matter. When children feel like they can’t count on their parents to show up, it can lead them to develop feelings of mistrust and negative self-worth.

Your presence is the most valuable gift you can give a child. You’re teaching your kid the importance of developing meaningful relationships, celebrating achievements, and being supportive. Sometimes it is hard to make time for all of our kids’ events, but a parent’s job is to support and encourage, and you can’t do that from home or your job.
