#13: The Fast Radio Burst (FRB) Deep-Space Alerts
In 2007, astronomers came across a phenomenon known as a Fast Radio Burst (FRB). These powerful radio waves last just a few milliseconds but have a punch equal to the Sun’s energy output over eighty years. Since that startling discovery, deep-space tools have detected thousands of these bursts from distant galaxies. Some signals even repeat according to specific mathematical patterns. Some theories suggest these come from magnetars or stellar collisions, but the exact cause is unknown.
