#15: James Garfield
Even though there have been many presidents of the United States over a long period of time, many of these people remain memorable to the American people and the world. Elected as the 20th president of the United States, James Garfield was the first president to serve 9 years in the U.S. House of Representatives before becoming president.
Like many others in his position, his politics threatened many people, and his presidency was cut short just after 200 days in office after he was assassinated. Garfield had an IQ of 141.5, which helped him fight political corruption and try and bring prestige back to the presidency after it was damaged during the Reconstruction era.
