Ranking U.S. Presidents From Most to Least Liked by the Public

March 24, 2017 by Amy Dickson

#6: Dwight D. Eisenhower (1953-1961)

President Eisenhower, who was a big deal during World War II, spent a lot of his time as president dealing with the beginning of the Cold War. He managed to stop the fighting in Korea after it had been going on for years, kept pushing to end racial segregation in the military, and even sent troops to make sure schools in Little Rock, Arkansas, followed the law to integrate black and white students.

He negotiated a truce in the Korean War, advancing peace efforts. Eisenhower’s commitment to civil rights saw him enforce desegregation in schools and the military. His economic policies ensured a period of prosperity, fostering widespread admiration for his balanced governance and strategic leadership.
