#19: Stephen Hawking’s Pi Day Departure
Some people’s lives seem aligned with the cosmos they study. The physicist Stephen Hawking was born on January 8, 1942, which happened to be the 300th anniversary of the death of fellow astronomer Galileo Galilei. Decades later, after a life spent rethinking space and time, Hawking passed away on March 14, 2018. We know that date, 3/14, as Pi Day. It also happens to be the 139th anniversary of Albert Einstein’s birth.
