#3: Robert Todd Lincoln Rescued by Edwin Booth
A slip on a crowded train platform nearly cost Robert Todd Lincoln his life. Sometime shortly before his father’s death, Lincoln fell into the dangerous space between the platform and a moving train. Suddenly, a hand grabbed his coat collar and pulled him back to safety. His rescuer was Edwin Booth, one of the most famous stage actors in America. Edwin’s brother was John Wilkes Booth, the man who would soon murder President Lincoln.
