#8: Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s Foreshadowing License Plate
The death of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo is the event we all learned in school that kicked off World War I. He was riding in an open-top Gräf&Stift automobile when he was shot. That car’s registration plate read “A III 118,” the day the war that followed his death officially ended (November 11, 1918).
