#37: There’s a Hole in the Sky
Whenever you see something slightly concerning about the sky, the ocean, or other natural phenomenons, it can be a little scary. We have learned time and time again that we humans have pretty much no control over mother nature and therefore can’t completely understand her ways.
As it appears, this type of cloud is called a “hole punch” cloud. These clouds here are called altocumulus clouds, which are made up of little water drops that are below freezing temperature but have not turned into ice. These clouds are made of ice crystals which occur when an airplane comes past, which causes the water drops to freeze, turn to ice, and then fall, which leaves a rather obvious hole in the cloud layer.
