Lettuce Be Friends
Film writers are always trying to fit hidden messages into movies, so sneaking them into the names of the characters is always a good way to do so secretively. It makes it that much more fun for fans to try and figure out! Usually, when naming characters, the writers enjoy making a connection between the character itself with the background of the movie, or at least, normally. But this doesn’t always seem to be the case.
As you can see, the meanings behind these princesses’ names are mostly connected to each of their storylines – except for Rapunzel, that is. And that is because, in the original story, Rapunzel’s mother was craving something called a Rapun – a type of vegetable. So nothing too deep or meaningful here, but we do still love her character even if she is named after lettuce!
