Keep it in the Family
I think we have seen enough live-action re-makes in the Disney empire to understand that Disney probably isn’t going to stop making them anytime soon. Don’t get us wrong, we enjoyed the new Cinderella as much as the next guy, with all the relatable, yet slightly different undertones. Look, we like these films, but it’s the not knowing when to stop remaking these films that we’re worried about.
There is something so magical about Disney cartoons, re-creating films into live-actions is just a bit, meh. We want fresh ideas, new characters, new storylines – not the same story regurgitated over and over again. These new re-makes are a quick way to make a solid amount of money at the box office, and that’s fine, but we don’t want it compromising the masterpieces that we are used to seeing from the conglomerate. Give the people what they want!
