#11: Muffuletta Squares
New Orleans boasts a very distinct Italian streak through its devotion to muffuletta. In school lunch portions, muffuletta sandwiches would be cut into small squares layered with meat, cheese, and that signature olive salad. While not for everyone, the initiated couldn’t get enough of this salty, savory sammy.
