After it was determined that Barbara required treatment, the staff at the hospital placed her under arrest so that a psychiatrist could examine her. This was done so that Barbara could be evaluated. This was done so that it could be determined whether or not Barbara needed to receive treatment. This was done so that Barbara could receive therapy for her disease, which was the primary motivation behind it.
