Only One Road
As a result of the unpredictability of Sally’s behavior, Cindy was constantly moved around, both in terms of the state in which she lived and the homes in which she resided. It seemed as though the only choice available to her would be to enter the foster care system, which would only serve to perpetuate the negative behaviors that she displayed.
She was unable to acclimate to the setting of her foster homes, and as a consequence, she found that she spent a big amount of time by herself. As a result, she discovered that she spent a substantial amount of time alone. At times, she questioned whether or not anyone would ever recognize who she was as a person. She pondered the possibility that she might never garner anyone’s affection.
