#13: A Weird-Looking Vegetable from the Garden
Nothing woke up a classroom quite like a carrot with two legs. A weird-looking vegetable from the garden had a surprise built into it because it was both ordinary and ridiculous. Maybe it was a lumpy potato, a huge zucchini, a tomato shaped like a nose, a twisted carrot, or a cucumber that seemed to have made its own decisions. Kids brought these because adults at home had laughed first, then said, “You should take that to school.”
