In A Split Second, Everything Changed
It was an ordinary day for Raley’s truck to join a regular convoy of vehicles. He stepped on an improvised explosive device and died instantly. Despite the fact that the majority of his fellow troops, including himself, were wounded, his unit managed to return to base after traveling the two miles back. Raley and two other troops were awarded Purple Hearts for their bravery in the face of extreme danger.
Raley was able to return to his wife and unborn kid at home after a long journey. The price was high, though. However, despite the fact that Raley had no obvious wounds, this soldier had suffered from both a concussion and PTSD. Things deteriorated from there. When Raley returned to the United States from Iraq, he was involved in a near-fatal vehicle accident. He was left paralyzed from the waist down as a consequence of the accident. However, the veteran’s mental traumas are what torment him to this day…
