Part Of Her Was Lost
As a teenage girl, Hannah took deep pride in her hair. She thought of her rich brown hair as one of her most attractive features, and she couldn’t fathom why anyone would want to cause her or her hair any harm. She also couldn’t fathom why anyone would want to hurt her.
Hannah sustained a great deal of physical and emotional damage as a result of the attack with the super glue. She came to the sad conclusion that she had lost a treasured aspect of herself when she cut off all of her hair. She goes as far as to say that her hair was the only thing that she liked about herself, and that it was taken away from her for no reason at all. This is something that she says in her honest reflections. The prospect of losing her hair filled her with dread.
