Strange countries so small they barely exist

The Kingdom of Redonda (1865) began when Irish trader Matthew Dowdy Shiell claimed a small uninhabited island near Antigua as his own. Over time, the title of king passed between writers and artists, creating a strange literary tradition. The rocky island has no permanent population and no recognized government.
