#1: Toothbrushes Were Once Made from Animal Hair
The first ever nylon bristle toothbrush went to market in 1938, thousands of years after the original toothbrushes were believed to have originated. Wooden bristles were replaced with boar hair bristles, which were tough on gums and harbored bacteria.
