#16: Using Waterproof Walkmans Like They Were Actually Waterproof
Sony, the maker of the Walkman device, released the Walkman Sport version and promoted it as safe to use in the rain. Some Walkman fans took this to mean they were waterproof. In reality, though, Walkmans were water resistant, not waterproof. A waterproof item means water cannot get inside. Water resistant, however, means the device can hold off some water, but should not be completely submerged.
