#2: Rewinding Tapes With a Pencil Like It Was Normal
A cassette tape was just that … a tape. The Walkman device spooled the tape from one side to the other as it played the music, but sometimes it got stuck. To physically rewind the tape, everyone knew to insert a hexagonal pencil into the reel hole. The spokes caught on the pencil’s sides, allowing you to coil the tape back where it belonged.
