#9: Lamarr Avenue
Lamarr Avenue in Culver City honors actress and inventor Hedy Lamarr (1914-2000). The street was part of a neighborhood built in 1980 near the former MGM studio lot, with many streets named after famous MGM figures. Lamarr became known not only for films like Samson and Delilah (1949) but also for her pioneering frequency-hopping technology.
