Naomi Campbell Then
There’s not a soul on the planet that hasn’t heard of Naomi Campbell. The London-born supermodel grew up in a single-parent environment, so it was incumbent upon her to help pay the bills. She started out by dancing, which was caught the eye of model scouts, and in no time, she was the first black woman to grace the cover of French Vogue.
Her place in the fashion world has pretty much been solidified since she started modeling. In 1995, Naomi joined forces with fellow supermodels Claudia Schiffer, Christy Turlington, and Elle Macpherson, to launch the Fashion Café, which, unfortunately, only lasted three years.
