#15: First Mobile Phone Call: New York City (1973)
A far cry from the slim, powerful iPhone in your back pocket, the clunky, heavy DynaTAC mobile phone, a Motorola prototype, made the first cell phone call on April 3, 1973. Motorola engineer Martin Cooper placed the first call to test the new device, but we doubt he knew just how the DynaTAC would kick off the cell phone revolution.
