Katie Meili
Katie Meili was “late” to the Olympic Games. At 25 years old, she made her debut in 2016 in Brazil but would shut down naysayers by earning a bronze in the 100-meter breaststroke category and a gold in the 4×100-meter medley. Outside of the Olympics, she was a highly successful competitive swimmer at the college level, breaking the 4×100-meter medley relay record by recording just 1:05.62.
Three years after Rio de Janeiro, Katie officially announced her retirement from competitive swimming. A year later, she’d join the USA Swimming Board of Directors, where she currently serves as an Athlete Representative.
