Caitlin Leverenz
While Caitlin Leverenz didn’t qualify for the 2008 Olympics, she proved in London that she deserved a spot. In the 2012 Olympics, Caitlin represented Team USA in two events but would “only” take home a single bronze medal in the 200-meter medley event. Before she officially became an Olympian, the world viewed Caitlin as a dominant force in multiple national and international competitions.
In March 2017, at age 26 years, Caitlin announced that she was stepping away from the game. She and her husband, water polo player Collin Smith, welcomed their first child to the world in 2020. Caitlin also completed her MBA at Stanford in the same year.
