Janet Evans
Janet Evans grew up in Placentia, California, where she began her competitive swimming career. She represented Stanford University for three seasons, won the Honda Sports Award, and broke several world records in freestyle distance events. In the 1988 and 1992 Olympics, she would take home a total of four gold medals.
In 2011, Janet attempted a comeback and even participated in the trials for the 2012 Olympics, placing 80th out of 113 participants in the 400-meter freestyle category. She was appointed as the Vice Chair for the bid for the 2024 Olympics in Los Angeles, but the city will host the Olympics in 2028.
