Lea Loveless
Yonkers native Lea Loveless started swimming competitively for a local swim club that would produce Olympians like Cristina Teuscher and Rick Carey. She continued competing at the collegiate level for the University of Florida before transferring to Stanford and competing in the 1992 Olympics. In her only Olympic Games appearance, she received a gold medal in the 4×100-meter medley relay and a bronze in the 100-meter backstroke event.
Immediately following her retirement from competitive swimming, Lea became an assistant swimming coach at Northwestern University. She would return to Stanford in 2005 and coach the swimming and diving team until 2012.
