Monkey Bridges (Vietnam)
In terms of distance from San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Vietnam’s monkey bridges are in a class by themselves. The Mekong Delta is traversed by the bridge in this photograph, which is so named because of the manner in which people cross it on foot.
This monkey bridge was constructed out of a single bamboo log. Despite the fact that they can be dangerous for those who are unfamiliar with them, the locals use these bridges to get around town on a regular basis.. However, locals are well-versed in this Vietnamese practise and can frequently be seen traversing these remarkably durable monkey bridges with weights weighing up to 50 kilogrammes.
