The Coolest City Experiences in the World

October 14, 2021 by Amy Dickson

It’s no secret that traveling is one of the best ways to learn about and experience other cultures. But it can also be intimidating, especially if you don’t know where to start. This guide will help you get off on the right foot with a few tips for achieving your own travel dreams.

It doesn’t matter if you’re looking for something an easy day trip from home or a cross-continental adventure; we’ve got you covered! You can make your next trip the coolest city experience in the world by checking out one of these spots.

Stuttgart, Germany

Home of Mercedes-Benz and Porsche, Stuttgart is known for its love of cars and motorcycles. It has a number of museums dedicated to two-wheeled machines, as well as many driving routes where you can see some exciting vintage vehicles. The Porsche museum is worth a visit for its extensive collection of cars from over the years.

For those who aren’t quite as enthusiastic about steering wheels, there are plenty of other things to keep you busy. The city center is a beautiful conglomeration of buildings, with a market square at the very center. You’ll find plenty of shops and restaurants in the area as well as parks where you can take a break from your exploration.

Berlin, Germany

In Berlin’s Mitte district, you’ll find Friedrichstraße station. The underground passageway has been the site of several bombings over the years, most famously during World War II. The station was left in ruins after decades of war and neglect, but it came back to life with renovations in 2009.

If you’re interested in art history, be sure to visit the East Side Gallery. This part of Berlin’s Berlin Wall once had more than 100 paintings, but most were stolen or destroyed over the years. The remaining few are still worth seeing; one panel shows Soviet soldiers trying to get their tank through the gate of the wall while citizens cheer them on.

Amsterdam, The Netherlands

Amsterdam is home to some of Europe’s top museums and attractions, so you’ll never get tired of seeing its sights. But it’s also a great place to just get out and about, particularly if you enjoy cycling. In fact, the Dutch city is so bike-friendly that over 70% of locals get around by bicycle.

You can take advantage of this convenience by renting your own two-wheeled transportation at one of the city’s bike-share facilities and taking in some local scenery.

Vienna, Austria

If you like to party, then check out the “Kunst und Kongresszentrum” (known as KKC) in Vienna’s Favoriten area. The building is known for hosting a number of great concerts but has a nightclub on the top floor that has an impressive view of the city.

In addition to its beautiful look, this club also features a high-tech light system and laser beams that help create a unique atmosphere for your night out. Just be sure to bring some good walking shoes because you’ll have lots of steps to climb if you want to get back to the ground floor.

Madrid, Spain

The Museo del Prado is one of the best art galleries in the world for viewing both old and contemporary pieces. It’s also considered one of Europe’s most beautiful spaces, so it’s definitely worth a visit even if you’re not an art lover.

But Madrid itself is worth seeing, too. It’s one of the largest cities in Europe and has plenty of bars, clubs, and restaurants where you can spend your nights.

Andalusia, Spain Andalusia is famous for its flamenco tradition so it’s no surprise that the city of Jerez de la Frontera has some fantastic dance shows. In addition to the shows, you’ll also find a number of improvised dance spots that are great for those who want to learn some moves from the experts.

The coolest city experiences in the world are Stuttgart, Berlin, Amsterdam, Vienna, and Madrid. I hope everyone gets the chance to go to one of these places in the near future!
