Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor married and divorced twice, resulting in one of Hollywood’s most romantic and complicated tales. Their first split involved a very expensive transfer of jewelry, including the famous $1 million Krupp Diamond. By the time they divorced the second time, the legal fees were racking up, costing way more than any “normal” divorce. Burton’s comment that “Elizabeth is worth her weight in diamonds” perfectly summed up their relationship.
