#14: Marlon Brando’s Drum Tuning Innovation
Not every invention needs to come from a laboratory. Sometimes it comes from a musician’s irritation with an instrument that will not behave. Marlon Brando had a serious interest in percussion, especially conga and bongo-style drums, and he eventually patented a device related to drumhead tensioning. The purpose was simple enough: make tuning more reliable and easier to adjust. For an actor so often discussed in terms of method, rebellion, and screen intensity, this little mechanical pursuit opens a different door.
